EN NEW YORK “EL FESTIVAL DE CINE DE LA HABANA” PRESENTARÁ 30+ FILMS. PHOTOS.
La mayoría de las cintas compite por el Premio Havana Star. Entre ellas el film ‘El caso Padilla’ revela imágenes inéditas del escarmiento del poeta cubano Heberto Padilla.
MÁS DE 30 películas, algunas en estreno mundial, se presentarán este año en el Festival de Cine de La Habana en Nueva York, que se realizará del 3 al 10 de noviembre y rendirá homenaje al popular actor y profesor de teatro Alexis Díaz de Villegas ( Juan de los muertos), que falleció el pasado junio, informó este lunes el comité organizador.
Igualmente rendirán homenaje al cineasta Pastor Vega (1940-2005), realizador de cintas como El retrato de Teresa y Vidas paralelas, y a Rigoberto López (1947-2019), con una filmografía que abarca más de 20 obras, entre ellas El Mayor y Yo soy del son a la salsa.
Indicó además que en esta edición 22 del Festival, que contará además con foros a los que asistirán directores, se presentarán filmes de Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, República Dominicana, Ecuador, México, Perú, Uruguay, Venezuela y de latinos en Estados Unidos.
Asimismo, se hará el lanzamiento del libro La historia en un sobre amarillo, de Iván Giroud, el 6 de noviembre.

Lerman y la actriz Renata Lerman, recientemente galardonada con la Concha de Plata a la Mejor Actriz de Reparto en el Festival de cine de San Sebastián, estarán presentes para introducir la película y contestar preguntas tras la proyección.
Esta edición llevará al público desde películas de ficción que incluyen una historia cubana delirante de retorcidas atracciones ( Oscuros Amores, de Gerardo Chijona), un relato neo- noir de lucha y redención ambientado en un Perú distópico ( Tiempos Futuros, de Víctor Checa) hasta una cándida exploración de 6 directores sobre los sentimientos y realidades de la sociedad cubana durante la covid ( Cuentos de un día más).
También se incluye el primer largometraje íntegramente escrito, filmado, dirigido y actuado por ex guerrilleros ( Memorias Guerrilleras, Colectivo David Marín), y documentales que exploran cómo el arte hace historia y reflexiona sobre la discriminación racial como Bajo Sospecha: Zokonentu de Daniel Díaz, o la visibilización de las comunidades trans de América Latina en historias de fortaleza y redención como Yo nena, Yo princesa de Federico Palazzo.
El festival finaliza con la ceremonia de entrega de premios y el estreno mundial del documental La Habana de Fito, de Juan Pin Vilar, sobre los recuerdos del cantautor argentino en su relación con La Habana.

Also included is the first feature film entirely written, filmed, directed, and performed by former guerrillas (Memories Guerrillas, David Marín Collective), and documentaries that explore how art makes history and reflects on racial discrimination such as Under Suspicion: Zokonentu by Daniel Díaz, or the visibility of trans communities in Latin America in stories of strength and redemption such as Yo nena, Yo princess by Federico Palazzo.
The festival ends with the awards ceremony and the world premiere of the documentary La Habana de Fito, by Juan Pin Vilar, about the memories of the Argentine singer-songwriter in his relationship with Havana.
