Actor cubano de radio y televisión, uno de los más populares antes de la revolución de 1959.
Nacido en La Habana el 21 de noviembre de 1923, se destacó por primera vez en las radionovelas donde su voz profunda y bien modulada fue un éxito instantáneo, especialmente entre el público femenino.
Con la llegada de la televisión, la buena apariencia de Alberto facilitó la transición a los nuevos medios. Firmó un contrato de exclusividad con Crusellas, representante en Cuba de los productos Colgate-Palmolive, que patrocinaba las telenovelas más importantes de la poderosa cadena CMQ TV.
La enorme popularidad de Alberto atrajo a los productores de cine, y apareció en varias películas que llevaron su imagen y voz al público de habla hispana y portuguesa del mundo.

A principios de 1953 comenzó a trabajar en televisión, siendo muy popular en las telenovelas de la época, entre ellas: “Martes, miércoles y sábados de amor Palmolive”.
En la película se recordará su actuación en “El renegado” película dirigida por Ramón Peón y quien comparte roles con Rita Montaner, Enrique Santisteban y Gina Cabrera, también se le recuerda en las películas “La mentira” y “Contra el pecado”. de ayer”.
También tuvo mucho éxito en la grabación de varios discos de la mejor poesía latinoamericana. Después de la toma del poder comunista en Cuba, todos los medios fueron confiscados por el gobierno y el actor se vio relegado a programas de propaganda.

Huyó de su tierra natal en 1962 instalándose con su familia en Miami, Florida, donde continuó su carrera gracias a su popularidad entre la comunidad del exilio cubano. Sin embargo, debido a la limitada proyección de las transmisiones en español en el sur de la Florida en la década de 1960, la carrera de Alberto nunca recuperó la gloria que había conocido en Cuba antes de la revolución. A pesar de eso, grabó varios seriales radiofónicos y apareció en comerciales.
Parte de su trabajo radial en Estados Unidos fue transmitido a Latinoamérica a través de La Voz de América. En entrevistas, se le citó diciendo “Prefiero ser un hombre libre que trabajar en la esclavitud” y agregó que “estaba agradecido por criar a sus tres hijas en libertad”.
Alberto murió en el Jackson Memorial Hospital de Miami el 28 de octubre de 1981, luego de una cirugía por cáncer de pulmón.

Alberto died at Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital on October 28, 1981, after surgery for lung cancer.
