Cuban musicians Gloria Estefan, Paquito D’ Rivera, Omar Sosa and Roberto Fonseca appear among the nominees for the Grammy Awards, which will be presented on January 26, 2014 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
The list is chaired by the Cuban composer and saxophonist Paquito D’ Rivera, with his album Song For Maura, candidate best Latin jazz album . The musician also aspires to the best of jazz improvisation with the single ‘s title to production.
Gloria Estefan was nominated by The Standards , in the category Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album . One of the pieces of this album (What A Wonderful World) is a finalist for the best arrangement ( Shelly Berg) for solo accompaniment .
The others involved are Cuban pianist and composer Roberto Fonseca , producing I , and fellow pianist Omar Sosa , with Eggún , both pretenders to the best Latin jazz album .
Rapper Jay Z , with nine nominations, and singer Justin Timberlake, seven , lead the list of Grammy nominated Anglo-Saxon.
The seven nominations Macklemore and Lewis and rapper Kendrick Lamar became the surprise of the night , as listed by the American Recording Academy ( NARAS ) .

Los músicos cubanos Gloria Estefan, Paquito D’Rivera, Omar Sosa y Roberto Fonseca aparecen entre los nominados a los Premios Grammy, que se entregarán el 26 de enero de 2014 en el Staples Center de Los Ángeles.
La lista cubana la preside el compositor y saxofonista Paquito D’Rivera, con su disco Song For Maura, candidato al mejor álbum de jazz latino. El músico también aspira a la mejor improvisación de jazz con el sencillo que da título a la producción.
Gloria Estefan resultó nominada por The Standards, en la categoría mejor álbum de pop vocal tradicional. Una de las piezas de este disco (What A Wonderful World) es finalista al mejor arreglo (Shelly Berg) para acompañamiento de solista.
