Ante la posibilidad de que la próxima semana llegue a un acuerdo con un equipo de las Mayores, el camagüeyano dice que le gustaría jugar el centerfield.
El pelotero camagüeyano Daniel Carbonell, declarado “agente libre” por las Grandes Ligas de Béisbol, se prepara para firmar contrato con una de las franquicias interesadas, cuyos nombres no fueron revelados.
Carbonell escapó de Cuba en octubre de 2013 y actualmente reside en México. Este viernes comparecerá nuevamente frente a varios equipos de las Mayores y probablemente ya haya una decisión definitiva.
Según fuentes de la negociación, el potente jardinero ha mostrado su talento ante doce franquicias.
“Ya soy agente libre. Esto era lo que esperaba, estaba ansioso, pero ahora estoy muy contento”, dijo Carbonell a DIARIO DE CUBA desde la ciudad de Mérida.
Su entrenamiento en México ha estado centrado en la velocidad, la musculación y la defensa, entre otros aspectos técnicos.
Ante la posibilidad de que la próxima semana llegue a un acuerdo con un equipo de las Mayores, señaló que le gustaría jugar el centerfield, porque es la posición en la que más tiempo se ha desempeñado.
“Mi brazo está mejor que nunca”, aseguró el jugador. Dijo que está buscando su “oportunidad” en Grandes Ligas, para lo cual ha trabajado “mucho, sin descanso” y con “gran concentración”.
Daniel Carbonell, que batea a las dos manos, era jardinero de los equipos de Camagüey en Series Nacionales.
