TV NACIONAL CUBANA TODAVÍA REACIA A DIFUNDIR PARTIDOS DE BÉISBOL CON NUESTROS PELOTEROS EXILADOS.
Pito Abreu: ¿podremos alguna vez ver sus jonrones en Grandes Ligas por el programa Béisbol Internacional de la TV cubana?
Luego de varios meses de que la Televisión Cubana recibiera la anuencia de las altas esferas gubernamentales para transmitir partidos de béisbol de las ligas internacionales de béisbol, incluida la Major League Baseball (MLB) de Estados Unidos, el sabor aún no resulta completamente dulce para los millones de seguidores de la pelota en la isla.
Todavía no se pueden ver juegos donde intervengan cubanos que escaparon de la isla y triunfan hoy en Grandes Ligas u otros circuitos internacionales, llámense Yasiel Puig o José Dariel Abreu.
“No se dan cuenta de que el pueblo sabe la actualidad de todos los nuestros en las Grandes Ligas así no lo pongan en la televisión y que aunque les duela nos sentimos orgullosos de ellos”, comentó Yosuán Robles, estudiante universitario y asiduo a la tradicional peña deportiva del Parque Central en La Habana.
BÉISBOL INTERNACIONAL CON FILTROS.
Hasta el momento el programa Béisbol Internacional, transmitido los domingos a las 8:00 p.m., ha llevado a los cubanos juegos de los diferentes torneos del continente americano y asiático, además de partidos de las Ligas Mayores, pero en ningún momento han trascendido las actuaciones del centenar de cubanos que intervienen en esos certámenes.
Pero lo que resulta realmente ofensivo para los seguidores del béisbol es que se obvie la carrera de esos peloteros en fechas recientes en Cuba y se les trate como si nunca hubiesen significado nada para el público nacional. ¿Es intrascendente que muchos los tuviesen como sus héroes, o hayan llorado de alegría con algún ponche o jonrón de quienes ahora son tratados como fantasmas?
En el caso de las Grandes Ligas, el ninguneo sobre los cubanos es total, con absoluta premeditación y estricta vigilancia de los productores.
“Hay un filtro para los juegos donde salgan cubanos que jugaban antes aqui y ahora triunfan en Grandes Ligas… Eso se mantiene como regla”, comentó a CaféFuerte una fuente vinculada a la programación deportiva del ICRT
Así veremos con impotencia decenas de partidos, pero ninguno de los Medias Blancas de Chicago, Dodgers de Los Ángeles, Marlins de la Florida, Rojos de Cincinatti, Atléticos de Oakland, Rays de Tampa Bay o Marineros de Seattle, equipos de Grandes Ligas con presencia de jugadores cubanos en sus rósters iniciales.
Aunque a regañadientes las autoridades deportivas han tenido que ceder al reconocimiento del profesionalismo y de una realidad beisbolera mucho más poderosa que la cubana, los triunfadores en tierras foráneas que no son parte de la anuencia oficial del INDER siguen proscritos en la televisión nacional.
En el discurso de Higinio Vélez puede escucharse a estas alturas del juego un desesperado reclamo de acceso cubano a Grandes Ligas y la apertura de los escenarios nacionales al escrutinio de los antes odiados cazatalentos del béisbol. Pero en la práctica, la imagen de los que se fueron sigue siendo tabú en el lenguaje oficial y la pantalla televisiva.
Los fanáticos, sin embargo, no se confirman con las migajas que les ofrece Béisbol Internacional, y hablan de ellos en las peñas deportivas, discuten sobre sus récords y sus hazañas, y se las agencian para verlos jugar por otras vías alternativas que el gobierno no logra desmantelar, a pesar de sus empeños de controlar y monopolizar lo que ve el cubano de hoy.
