Cuba vive el tercer verano más cálido desde 1951, al registrar en julio una temperatura media de 28 grados Celsius, dijo este jueves el diario oficial Granma.
“La temperatura media en el recién finalizado julio alcanzó los 28,0 grados Celsius, valor que supera en 0,6 el promedio histórico mensual y lo convierte en el tercero más cálido ocurrido en Cuba desde 1951 a la fecha”, dijo el rotativo.
Las temperaturas medias máxima y mínima el mes pasado fueron “33,0 y 23,0 grados, para sobrepasar sus cifras habituales en 0,9 y 0,2 grados, respectivamente”, añadió el diario, citando datos del Instituto de Meteorología.
Más allá de lo que marcan los termómetros, la “sensación térmica” es mucho mayor debido a los altos índices de humedad en la isla. Un especialista dijo en el Canal Habana que con 34 grados y la alta humedad, lo que sentían las personas eran unos 48 grados.
“Como las madrugadas resultaron también calurosas en la mayor parte del archipiélago (cubano), las personas sintieron la canícula agobiante de forma casi permanente durante todo el mes, más acentuada en la región occidental (donde está La Habana), a lo cual contribuyó, además, el comportamiento deficitario de las precipitaciones, y la debilidad de los vientos”, señaló Granma.
Indicó que “la temperatura más alta fue de 37,2 grados, reportada en la estación de la ciudad de Guantánamo”, extremo oriental de la isla, el 24 de julio.
El diario no dijo cuáles fueron los otros dos veranos más calurosos que el actual desde 1951.
“Para el actual agosto los vaticinios sugieren que las temperaturas máximas y mínimas estarán por encima de lo normal en las tres regiones del país”, occidental, central y oriental, concluyó.
