Near what is called El Puerto de Boniato, in Santiago de Cuba, Oriente, it is building a biggest jail in Cuba so far. The Chief of the Army, Genovevo Dámera Perez and General Gomez Gomez, inspected the works.
Note: The “Jail of Puerto Boniato” were the prison for many years of thousands of Cubans during the regime of the Castro administration and from there and many other Cuban jails were taking to be fired squad thousand of people condemned to the highest penalty: Shoot to dead.
The writer and editor of this section (# 32314) in prison between (1962-1969) saw many of them go in front of the firing squad without shedding a tear.
We hope this black period in our history won’t happen again.

Nota: Por “La Carcel de Boniato” pasaron miles de Cubanos durante el régimen de los hermanos Castro y de allí salieron hacia el paredón de fusilamiento muchos de los miles que tambien sufrieron la máxima pena capital. El que escribe estas lineas (# 32314) preso entonces entre (1962-1969) los vió salír desde allí sin derramar una lagrima. Esperamos este negro periodo de nuestra historia no se repita.
