CRISIS DE VALORES EN CUBA, LA MALA HIERBA.

Hace ya un tiempo, asistí a uno de los pocos sitios de debate que tiene este país.
“Último jueves”, el espacio que organiza la revista Temas, proponía la discusión ¿Valores en crisis? Todos allí parecían coincidir en que, independiente de que en muchas sociedades se habla de crisis de valores, la nuestra atraviesa una profunda crisis moral.
Para los que solo tengan una mirada superficial, y sobre todo, para aquellos que solo se informan con los medios de difusión cubanos -todos estatales-, podrían no estar de acuerdo con aquella opinión general que flotaba en la reunión de “Último jueves”.
En un programa de televisión la semana pasada, un grupo de especialistas retomaba la crisis de los valores; analizaba distintas causas y apuntaba sobre todo a los padres, a la familia, como los máximos responsables de inculcar valores.
Es cierto que a la familia corresponde la tarea fundamental. Pero, ¿qué pasa en la escuela, en el transporte público, en los comercios?, ¿qué pasa cuando esos valores recibidos en el hogar tropiezan con la realidad?

En las guaguas cubanas es el sitio preciso para ver la falta de solidaridad y de educación de la sociedad.
Quien no quiera ver, que haga como el avestruz, pero la percepción de que esta sociedad se vuelve (¿se ha vuelto ya?) egoísta y mezquina es una desagradable sensación que me abofetea todos los días. Eso y la doble moral con que vive la sociedad.
Nada como un ómnibus de transporte público para ver la falta de solidaridad y de educación.
Es difícil encontrar a un chofer amable, pero esos son los que menos me preocupan, pues lidiar con público crispado en un ómnibus repleto cada jornada laboral, debe proveerlos de una coraza. Pero los pasajeros que se apretujan y logran subir y acomodarse, se olvidan de los que esperan en la parada.
Frases despectivas conminan al chofer a no detenerse, personas con discapacidad, ancianos o embarazadas pasan trabajo para obtener un asiento, hay que reclamarlos a viva voz y cuesta trabajo lograrlo.
Las personas reaccionan con violencia ante un empujón o un pisotón; ayer, en un ómnibus repleto, todas las ventanillas cerradas por la lluvia y en aquel ambiente asfixiante, un jovencito sentado se negaba a abrir siquiera un mínimo de la ventanilla porque se le mojaba el peinado.
En ese mismo ómnibus de la lluvia, por cortesía del chofer, podía escucharse un reguetón, pero en la mitad de la guagua, un joven llevaba otro, y en esta competencia de DJs, en esta combinación de calor y decibeles, es cuando se pone a prueba la buena (o mala) educación de los pasajeros.

Los bailes eróticos de los cubanos son parte de su idiosincrasia.
¿Cuáles valores le transmitirán las jóvenes generaciones a sus hijos? Esos que vivieron en albergues en el campo durante la adolescencia y los que fueron educados por “maestros emergentes”.
Ellos, que aprendieron de primera mano que el dinero compra favores, calificaciones y hasta títulos, que robar en Cuba puede sustituirse por resolver o luchar si se le roba al Estado, si prostituirse puede tener un apelativo tan simpático como jinetear; que lo que importa es la lealtad política de viva voz, y algo que no determina, pero influye: ellos, que obtuvieron su título con una pésima docencia y unas calificaciones benévolas en consonancia con la calidad de la enseñanza recibida.
El llamado Período Especial entronizó una moral de supervivencia que no ha desaparecido, porque ya sin la agudeza de la crisis que caracterizó a la sociedad cubana de fines de siglo, las dificultades no han desaparecido, y el salario, no importa cuál sea, es insuficiente para cubrir las necesidades de una familia.
Dejo a la imaginación los lectores las variadas formas en que cada cual aumenta sus ingresos.
Para los nostálgicos del espejismo de Cuba, sepan que la sociedad se ha hecho clasista y las diferencias son cada vez más profundas.
Ese proyecto de hombre nuevo ha puesto de moda las cercas, los muros, las rejas, las alarmas, los perros de presa para protegerse del otro hombre nuevo que lo acecha.
No soy nostálgica del pasado, más bien del porvenir, pero no puedo dejar de recordar a mi primo el arquitecto Mario Coyula cuando definía que los valores denominados “burgueses” fueron defoliados luego de 1959, y en ese terreno yermo, a falta de una siembra, lo que prosperó fue la mala hierba.

CRISIS OF VALUES IN CUBA, THE WEED.

Some time ago, I attended one of the few sites that has this country for discussion.
“Last Thursday,” the space that organizes the magazine Temas, proposed the discussion Securities in crisis? Everyone there seemed to agree that, regardless of which in many societies is a crisis of values, ours is in deep moral crisis.
For those who have only a cursory glance, and especially for those who just are reported with Cuban media estatales–all, could not agree with that general opinion floating in the meeting of “Last Thursday.”
In a television program last week, a group of specialists resumed the crisis of values; analyzed various causes and aimed primarily to parents, family, and those most responsible for instilling values.
It is true that the family bears the primary task. But what happens at school, on public transport, in shops ?, what happens when those values received in the home encounter with reality?
In the Cuban buses you need to see the lack of solidarity and education of society site.
