Roberto “Sanz” Sánchez1 (born 4 January 1965 in Havana, Cuba) is a Cuban actor, who played in 2 Fast 2 Furious.
He was discovered by John Singleton (Boyz in the Hood) in Miami, while the casting for the sequel to The Fast and The Furious in 2002. Robert was born in Havana, Cuba in 1965. His family, who are not supporters of the communist government , decided to flee the island in 1969! His father, who was a member of the National Judo Team of Cuba, made provisions for his family to leave the country! The government did not allow the father to go and it would be 12 years before he would see his father. Robert grew up in “Little Havana”, a predominantly Cuban Miami sector.
He distinguished himself in the Navy as a veteran of Desert Storm, was an officer of the military police in Virginia Beach, competed professionally in the European league highly touted as a basketball player Naval. He became a successful print model and finally an actor.
Although his first love was the martial arts, he quickly excelled in basketball.
