Ricardo Enrique Almirante Segredo. Destacado artista de la radio, el teatro y la televisión cubana. Interpretó muchos y variados personajes en todos los medios, ganándose el afecto y el cariño de todo el pueblo.
Nació en La Habana el 7 de febrero de 1930 en el seno de una familia de la clase media. Tuvo una niñez y juventud normal sin preocupaciones económicas y jamás pensó en ser artista. En el barrio en que creció había un gimnasio muy bueno y se entrenaba en varios deportes. De allí salieron los primeros campeones centroamericanos y panamericanos. Practicó deporte desde los 11 años, lucha, levantamiento de pesas, boxeo. Ese era el mundo en que se desenvolvía y además estudiaba, la primaria, la secundaria… Estando en el bachillerato, visita a su tía que tenía un comercio y le había pedido ayuda con los libros de la tienda. Estudió comercio y trabajaba en la contabilidad de la tienda, pero sin presión. Lo hacía como entretenimiento, no era una vida laboral estricta.
A unas cuadras de su barrio, en San Lázaro entre Águila y Crespo, estaba la emisora Radio Habana Cuba Cadena Azul, una de las primeras del país por su alcance y programación en esa época, y muy cerca de la casa vivían muchos artistas de la misma. En el edificio de enfrente, residían Carlos Badías y Santiago García Ortega; en la de al lado, Paul Díaz, también cerca Juan José Castellanos, el narrador de La novela del aire. Y al lado, estaba el Patronato del Teatro. Muchos lo embullabaron para que se iniciara como artista. Pero no se decidía porque pensó que no tenía condiciones.
Trayectoria artística

Comenzó su carrera artística en la Cadena Oriental de Radio. En el año 1954, se incorpora al Canal 4 de la televisión y en el 1957 pasa a la CMQ. Posteriormente, integra el prestigioso grupo Teatro Estudio donde interpretó papeles importantes en obras como Un tranvía llamado deseo, Don Gil de las Calzas Verdes y Madre Coraje. Intervino en numerosos seriados infantiles y juveniles, y en telenovelas. Fue un actor de gran popularidad en Cuba.
Televisión.
En el año 1954, fue contratado por el canal 4. Ahí protagonizo Samarkán, escrita por Sergio Doré y dirigida por Sirio Soto. También en vivo realizó El jinete Materva y su ayudante Salutary. Después vino Historias del puerto, un policiaco que también dirigió Sirio Soto, todo era en vivo.
En 1963 fue fundador del espacio Aventuras en el canal 6 de la Televisión Cubana una activa participación entre las que se encuentran, Sandokan, 20 000 leguas de viaje submarino, Robin Hood, y muchas más. Estuvo en el primer Teatro ICR junto a Raquel Revuelta y Enrique Santiesteban, con El dulce pájaro de la juventud, de Tennessee Williams, dirigido por Roberto Garriga.

Pero lo que más le marcaron fue el personaje de Kazán, el cazador, que estuvo en el aire seis años. Lo dirigió Carlos Paulín hasta que se terminó. Imposible olvidar el Rodolfo de Los tres Villalobos, en su última etapa.
Muerte.
En el momento de su muerte, el 30 de septiembre de 2007, se estaba trasmitiendo por la TV cubana su último trabajo, el personaje de Sabicú en la novela ¡Oh la Habana!
