Island Travel & Tours begin on July 8 his weekly Wednesday flight from Orlando to Havana and later added another zero on Sunday, reported Thursday Orlando International Airport in a statement.
Thus, Orlando joins New York and New Orleans where recently started taking off direct charter planes to Cuba. Most of these flights continue to be based in Miami.
“With the changing dynamics in the relationship between the governments of the United States and Cuba, we are pleased to offer these options to the residents of central Florida,” said Phil Brown, executive director of the Orlando Aviation Authority.

Una empresa de turismo comenzará a ofrecer en julio vuelos chárter directos desde Orlando, Florida, a Cuba, tras la reducción de las restricciones para los viajes de estadounidenses a la Isla en el marco del acercamiento entre ambos gobiernos, informa AFP.
Island Travel & Tours iniciará el 8 de julio su vuelo semanal de los miércoles desde Orlando a La Habana y posteriormente añadirá otro traslado los domingos, informó el jueves el aeropuerto internacional de Orlando en un comunicado.
De esta manera, Orlando se suma a Nueva York y Nueva Orleans desde donde recientemente comenzaron a despegar aviones fletados directos hacia Cuba. La mayoría de esos vuelos siguen partiendo de Miami.
“Con la dinámica cambiante en la relación entre los gobiernos de Estados Unidos y Cuba, nos alegramos de ofrecer estas opciones de vuelo a los residentes del centro de Florida”, indicó Phil Brown, director ejecutivo de la autoridad aérea de Orlando.
