Peraza said the telecommunications sector in Cuba would be open to all foreign companies, but stressed that Havana wants to avoid “the negative side of the Internet.”
He did not explain what he meant. The Cuban regime has so far maintained tight control of internet access and blocked pages with content considered harmful to their interests.

AUTORIDADES EN ARGELIA HALLAN MUERTOS A DOS MEDICOS Y UNA ENFERMERA CUBANOS.
Dos médicos y una enfermera cubanos fueron hallados muertos esta semana en la casa que habitaban en la ciudad de Al Bayad, en el sureste de Argelia, informaron fuentes diplomáticas citadas por EFE.
Según las mismas, las víctimas formaban parte de un equipo que trabajaba desde el pasado agosto en el hospital de la citada localidad dentro de un programa de cooperación bilateral, y podrían haber fallecido a causa de una inhalación de gases.
Un portavoz del hospital público Mohamed Budiaf, donde trabajan, citado por la agencia de noticias oficial APS, dijo no obstante que se trata de un radiólogo de 50 años, un ginecólogo de 34 y una enfermera de 33.
FIRMA CHINA CONTRATO PARA CONSTRUIR UN CAMPO DE GOLF EN CUBA.
Una compañía de China y el Gobierno cubano suscribieron un acuerdo para construir un campo de golf en la zona de Bello Monte, al oeste de La Habana, informó el diario oficial Juventud Rebelde.
El acuerdo fue firmado el jueves, en el último día la Feria Internacional de Turismo realizada en Jardines del Rey, Ciego de Ávila.
“El presidente de Beijing Enterprise Group y el director de negocios del Ministerio de Turismo (MINTUR) de Cuba, —Wuang Dong y José Reinaldo Daniel, respectivamente—, rubricaron la carta que da luz verde a las acciones para iniciar el proyecto del campo de golf, una de las alternativas con vistas a diversificar las ofertas turísticas del país”, indicó Juventud Rebelde. El proyecto incluirá también una marina, condominios y hoteles.
CUBA FIRMA INGRESO EN SISTEMA DE ALERTA DE TSUNAMIS.

El sistema realiza la vigilancia a través de estaciones mareográficas, anclajes de boya en aguas oceánicas y modelación matemática de los tsunamis que puedan ocurrir como consecuencia de un sismo, según explicó el especialista del Instituto, Marcelino Hernández, citado por la agencia Prensa Latina.
Este mecanismo de alerta, al que Cuba se incorporó recientemente también vigila los deslizamientos de tierra y otros eventos geológicos, e incluye a países del Caribe y con costas en el Golfo de México, indicó el experto durante la VI Convención Cubana de Ciencias de la Tierra, concluida este viernes en La Habana.
CHINA’S “HUAWEI” APRESURA NEGOCIACIONES CON CUBA.
El Gobierno cubano está en avanzadas conversaciones con la empresa china de equipos de telecomunicaciones Huawei para hacer más negocios en la Isla, dijo el viernes la ministra cubana de Finanzas, Lina Peraza, informa Reuters.
La ministra dijo que acababa de reunirse con un empresario chino que está trabajando con Cuba actualmente, quien le dijo que está en pláticas muy avanzadas con una empresa cubana, presumiblemente el monopolio estatal de las comunicaciones, Etecsa.
Peraza añadió que el sector de las telecomunicaciones de Cuba sería abierto a todas las empresas extranjeras, pero destacó que La Habana quiere evitar “la parte negativa de internet”.
No explicó a qué se refería. El régimen cubano ha mantenido hasta ahora un férreo control del acceso a internet y ha bloqueado páginas con contenidos que considera dañinos para sus intereses.
