EE UU afirmó este miércoles que los diplomáticos de su nueva embajada en Cuba tendrán “mucha más libertad y flexibilidad” para viajar por la Isla y hablar con cubanos que ahora, y los cubanos podrán acceder a la legación estadounidense “sin miedo y sin una presencia de seguridad excesiva”.
“Nuestros diplomáticos tendrán mucha más libertad y flexibilidad para viajar que ahora, tendrán una capacidad de viajar y hablar con la gente que no hemos tenido en el pasado”, afirmó una alto cargo del Departamento de Estado, que pidió el anonimato, en una conferencia telefónica con periodistas.
Actualmente, los diplomáticos de la Sección de Intereses de EE UU en La Habana deben pedir “permiso” al Gobierno cubano para viajar por Cuba, mientras que “en el futuro” solo tendrán que “notificar” que planean hacer un viaje, en virtud del acuerdo bilateral para restablecer las relaciones diplomáticas, explicó.
