El papa Francisco pedirá a los cubanos que abandonen las hostilidades y rencores entre ellos durante su visita a la isla en el mes de septiembre, según dio a conocer el portavoz del episcopado de la isla, el sacerdote José Félix Pérez.
El sacerdote José Félix Pérez, miembro del equipo que prepara la visita papal, dio detalles sobre el mensaje que dará el Sumo Pontífice en la isla.
Dirá “a todo el pueblo cubano que necesitamos ir como revirtiendo actitudes de hostilidad, indiferencia, de desprecio. Todo eso tiene que ver con el rencor”, de acuerdo al secretario adjunto de la Conferencia de Obispos Católicos de Cuba y miembro del equipo que prepara la visita papal, en entrevista con AFP.
José Félix también señaló que el Papa “es muy sensible al tema de la pobreza, al tema de los emigrantes, al tema de los presos, de modo que el Papa en sus mensajes de alguna manera hará referencia” a ello, ya que los cubanos han vivido profundamente divididos desde la revolución de 1959. No obstante, apuntó que es consciente de que las generaciones más jóvenes, tanto de la isla como en el exilio, tienen poco interés en la política.
