Born in Camaguey on March 29, 1979, his home is in Miami, Florida after abandoning Cuba to take refuge in the US.

With height of 6 ‘4 “and current weight of 229 pounds was crowned WBA champion American after having achieved multiple national and international championships.

With the amateur record of 343-19, Luis Ortiz was long a member of the Cuban national squad.

2002 – Silver medal 95 kg
2003 – Bronze medal 91+ kg
2005 – Silver medal 91 kg
2006 – Gold medal 91 kg
2008 – Bronze medal 91+ kg

Currently Luis is undefeated WBA and the highest RANKED fighter at # 2. With Dino Spencer He trains at the World Famous 5th St. Gym in Miami Beach. He lives in Miami.

Just defeated the Argentine Matias Ariel Vidondo by KO in the third “round” in a fight held at Madison Square Garden, New York. (See above Fight).

Nacido en Camaguey en Marzo 29, de 1979, tiene como casa la ciudad de Miami, Florida despues de haber abandonado a Cuba para refugiarse en los EEUU.

Con estatura de 6′ 4″ y actual peso de 229 libras se acaba de coronar campeon de la AMB norteamericana, despues de haber alcanzado multiples campeonatos nacionales y extranjeros.
