The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba opened today a digital site here on the upcoming visit of Pope Benedict XVI, the first by a pontiff to the Caribbean country since 1998.
The email address http://benedictocuba.cubaminrex.cu promises information on their promises to stay from 26 to 28 March next in Santiago de Cuba (east) and Havana (West) as part of a tour also include Mexico.
Articles, news and agenda of the visitor, and a guide of common questions about the Caribbean nation and a media room on the 14 years of Pope John Paul II are on the website available in Spanish and English.
As part of the audience, Benedict XVI planned two homilies, one in Santiago de Cuba and one in the capital, and perform a courtesy call on President Raul Castro.
The site also recalled that John Paul II’s other religious figures were in Cuba as the Oni of Ile Ife, spiritual leader of the Yoruba, and the Chief Rabbi of Israel, Meyer Lau.
Were also Emilio Castro, Konrad Raiser, and Olav Fykse Samuel Kobia, general secretaries of all the World Council of Churches in different historical periods and the current chair of that organization Walter Altman.
Visits were also senior leaders of the Latin American Council of Churches as Julius Murray and Nilton Giese.

El Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Cuba abrió hoy un sitio digital sobre la próxima visita aquí del papa Benedicto XVI, la primera de un sumo pontífice al país caribeño desde 1998.
La dirección electrónica http://benedictocuba.cubaminrex.cu promete informaciones sobre su estancia del 26 al 28 de marzo próximos en Santiago de Cuba (oriente) y La Habana (occidente) como parte de una gira que también incluirá México.
Artículos, noticias y la agenda del visitante, así como una guía de preguntas frecuentes sobre la nación antillana y una multimedia sobre la estancia hace 14 años del papa Juan Pablo II se encuentran en la página web disponible en español e inglés.
Como parte del programa público, Benedicto XVI prevé realizar dos homilías, una en Santiago de Cuba y otra en esta capital, además realizará una visita de cortesía al presidente Raúl Castro.
El sitio recordó que además de Juan Pablo II otras personalidades religiosas estuvieron en Cuba como el Oni de Ilé Ifé, líder espiritual de los Yorubas, y el Gran Rabino de Israel, Meyer Lau.
Igualmente estuvieron Emilio Castro, Konrad Raiser, Samuel Kobia y Olav Fykse, todos secretarios generales del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias en diferentes períodos históricos, así como el actual moderador de esa organización Walter Altman.
Realizaron visitas también líderes principales del Consejo Latinoamericano de Iglesias como Julio Murray y Nilton Giese.
Además dirigentes mundiales de iglesias protestantes y evangélicas de las diferentes iglesias: metodistas, bautistas, adventistas, presbiterianos, de las Asambleas de Dios, iglesia de Cristo.
