La mítica banda de rock británica The Rolling Stones afirma que reunió en su histórico concierto en La Habana a 1.2 millones de personas, una cifra que superó las previsiones de los organizadores y de los primeros cálculos de algunos medios tras su actuación.
“El viernes The Stones tocaron para 1.2 millones de personas en Cuba”, publicaron sus “Satánicas Majestades” en su cuenta de Twitter, sobre el concierto gratuito al aire libre, que por más de dos horas ofrecieron el pasado 25 de marzo en áreas exteriores de la Ciudad Deportiva en la capital cubana.
The Rolling Stones detallan en otro tuit que congregaron en el recinto habilitado en torno al escenario a 700,000 fans, mientras que otros 500,000 ocuparon espacios en los terrenos del exterior, desde donde se pudo seguir el espectáculo sin precedentes a través de pantallas gigantes.

La cifra de asistentes al concierto de La Habana se ha aproximado a los 1.3 millones que los Stones reunieron en 2006 en la playa de Copacabana en Río de Janeiro, el último concierto gratuito de la banda hasta el de la capital cubana, cuya población sobrepasa los 2,1 millones de personas.
Ha sido difícil ver un claro consenso en las cifras que diversos medios publicaron después del concierto, desde los 200.000 de los más conservadores, hasta los 400,000 o más de medio millón que manejaron previamente los organizadores del multitudinario evento.
