Jason Dov Greenblatt (born 1966/67) is an American lawyer. CNN, has revealed that in April last year, Greenblatt “called on American teenagers” in which he urged them to “meet” with their fellow Cubans.

El sitio de noticias Buzzfeed dio a conocer hace apenas unas horas que ha sido Jason Greenblatt, la persona escogida por Donald Trump como “negociador” en los temas más sensibles de la política exterior norteamericana, un cargo que evidentemente apunta en una dirección “beneficiosa” hacia la isla, una “jugada” que el propio semanario ha dicho es “contraria a sus promesas pre-campaña” (con respecto a Cuba).
¿Quién es Jason Greenblatt?
Jason Dov Greenblatt (nacido en 1966/67) es un abogado estadounidense. Él era el vicepresidente ejecutivo y el oficial legal principal a Donald Trump ya la organización del triunfo, y su consejero en Israel. En enero de 2017 fue nombrado Representante Especial de Estados Unidos para las Negociaciones Internacionales por el Presidente de los Estados Unidos, Donald Trump.
Se trata de una figura cercana al actual presidente, alguien que en “el pasado” – hasta el mes de diciembre -, se desempeñó como Vicepresidente de la Organización Trump y actuó como director jurídico de la Corporación; y según revela Buzzfeed, este domingo, juró como “representante especial para negociaciones internacionales.”
CNN, ha revelado que en abril del año pasado, Greenblatt “hizo un llamado a los adolescentes norteamericanos” en el cual, los exhortaba a “reunirse” con sus similares cubanos.
En ese entonces dijo: “Somos de herencia cubana, nuestro abuelo nació y se crió allí, y estamos buscando el modo en que nuestras conexiones sean más profundas; comunicarnos, compartir experiencias y vincularnos con los adolescentes cubanos.”
No se trata, evidentemente de un llamado “circunstancial”.
Ya en el 2014, el propio Greenblatt pidió a los lectores de una de las plataformas que él dirige – Inspire Conversation – “ver el discurso del Presidente Obama anunciando el acercamiento con Cuba” un hecho que llamó “momento fascinante en la historia”.
El “negociador” expresó entonces: “Este es un acontecimiento muy importante para discutir con nuestros niños, y ellos tienen la edad necesaria para entenderlo (…) especialmente los adolescentes, que tendrán la oportunidad de explorar una época en la historia que influyó mucho en la diplomacia y la comunidad internacional de hoy.”
“Representa además – dijo Greenblatt – una oportunidad para aquellos vecinos nuestros, que se han vuelto distantes, para reunirnos en un modo que pueda inspirar a todos”
La actitud de Greenblatt, parece ser discordante con las palabras de Trump respecto a Cuba durante la campaña. También, Qué significa haber seleccionado a un Ministro de Agricultura favorable a tener lazos comerciales con Cuba?
¿Qué significa la invitación y la presencia de los funcionarios de la embajada cubana en la toma de investidura de Trump en Washington hace unas horas? ¿Acaso Trump no fue duro, con Fidel Castro el dia que este falleció?
No especulemos, pero si las palabras de Greenblatt no convencen, recordemos que estamos hablando del mismo hombre que, en el año 2012 y 2013 viajó a Cuba a – según Businessweek – estudiar la posibilidad de futuras inversiones en la isla, para la empresa del ahora presidente norteamericano.
