The Trova Festival (which is the oldest held in Cuba) will not only be dedicated to celebrate the centenarians of the five troubadour songs mentioned below, but there will also be a place to celebrate the 50 anniversary of the founding of the House of the Trova Pepe Sánchez and the first concert of the Nueva Trova, held at the Casa de las Américas.
Pancho Amat and his Cabildo del Son, William Vivanco, Tony Ávila, José Aquiles, Jóvenes Clásicos del Son and Annie Garcés (to be presented with the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Santiago de Cuba), are among the invited artists. There will also be a meeting between septets, which will take place on the 17th, in hours in the Tivoli neighborhood, where the Cabildo del Son, Young Clásicos del Son, and the Septeto Santiaguero, among others, will take part.
The Festival will recognize the centenary of five troubadour songs of enormous importance in Cuban music:
1- Longina, by Manuel Corona: It is the song-piropo par excellence and paradigm of poetic and respectful text. His author composed numerous songs dedicated to the beauty of Cuban women such as Mercedes, Santa Cecilia, Las flores del Edén or Aurora, among others.
2 – Mujer bayamesa, by Sindo Garay: It is also known as La Bayamesa, and for that reason it has been confused with the homonymous song by Céspedes, Castillo and Fornaris. This theme marked a change in the treatment of the female figure in the Cuban song of the early twentieth century.
3- She and I, Oscar Hernández: Known bolero to which the public changed the name for On the path of my sad life. As was common in this type of songs, the beloved woman is compared to a flower.
4 –The absence, Alberto Villalón: Santiaguero to the bone, the author became one of the most sung by the many duos, trios and sets in his hometown.
5 – Woman perjura, Miguel Companioni: It is the classic theme of the poet hurt by the lack of love of a woman, and the most recognized among those from the trova of the Spirit, along with some titles of Rafael Gómez (Theophyllus).

FESTIVAL SANTIAGUERO CELEBRA ANIVERSARIO DE CINCO CANCIONES CUBANAS CON CIEN AÑOS.
El Festival de la trova (que es el más antiguo que se celebra en Cuba) no solo se dedicará a celebrar los centenarios de las cinco canciones trovadorescas que mencionamos más adelante, sino que también habrá un lugar para festejar los aniversarios 50 de la fundación de la Casa de la Trova Pepe Sánchez y del primer concierto de la Nueva Trova, efectuado en la Casa de las Américas.
Pancho Amat y su Cabildo del Son, William Vivanco , Tony Ávila, José Aquiles, Jóvenes Clásicos del Son y Annie Garcés (que se presentará junto a la Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil de Santiago de Cuba), se cuentan entre los artistas invitados. También se realizará un Encuentro entre septetos, que se llevará a cabo el día 17, en horas en el Barrio del Tívoli, en el que tomarán parte el Cabildo del Son, Jóvenes Clásicos del Son, y el Septeto Santiaguero, entre otros.
El Festival reconocerá el centenario de cinco canciones trovadorescas de enorme trascendencia en la música cubana:
1. Longina, de Manuel Corona: Es la canción-piropo por excelencia y paradigma de texto poético y respetuoso. Su autor compuso numerosas canciones dedicadas a la belleza de la mujer cubana como Mercedes, Santa Cecilia, Las flores del Edén o Aurora, entre otras.
2. Mujer bayamesa, de Sindo Garay: Se conoce también como La Bayamesa, y por ello se ha confundido con la canción homónima de Céspedes, Castillo y Fornaris. Este tema marcó un cambio en el tratamiento de la figura femenina en la canción cubana de principios del siglo XX.
3. Ella y yo, de Oscar Hernández: Conocidísimo bolero al cual el público le cambió el nombre por En el sendero de mi vida triste. Como era común en este tipo de canciones se compara a la mujer amada con una flor.
4. La ausencia, de Alberto Villalón: Santiaguero hasta el tuétano, el autor se convirtió en uno de los más cantados por los numerosos dúos, tríos y conjuntos en su ciudad natal.
5. Mujer perjura, de Miguel Companioni: Es el clásico tema del poeta lastimado por el desamor de una mujer, y el más reconocido entre los provenientes de la trova espirituana, junto con algunos títulos de Rafael Gómez (Teofilito).
